Essentials
Your
pit stop for bread, ice, beer, gas and the daily newspapers is the
Tom Thumb convenience store, just a short walk to the east.
The shops at Gulf
Place include a bank, a pharmacy, plus fashion and home
furnishings stores. The artists' sheds on the northeast side for
craft art, watercolors, metal art, sculpture and hand-crafted furniture.
Art
About
a mile west toward Blue Mountain Beach is the Gaffrey Art Gallery,
where Justin and Billie Gaffrey can make art out of anything,
including Justin's car. The gallery is the source for those metal
flags you see in so many yards and gardens.
The Zoo
Gallery at
Grayton Beach has a variety of framed art, pottery, jewelry and
furniture. And the Shops
at Seaside
include a bookstore, a small music shop, a great gourmet food store
and loads of art and antique stores.
The Gourd Garden and
Curiosity Shop at Seagrove is worth the drive. After strolling
through the herb and flower gardens, an Atlanta writer called the
shop "part verdant nursery, part multicultural market of
talismans and world religions."
Outlet City
For
serious consumerism, you can spend a half a day or more at the Silver
Sands outlet mall
in Sandestin, a sprawling complex that has more than 100 stores.

stores, try the Santa
